The 2020 Schneider Family Book Award winner, my debut YA novel was drawn from my own experience of being diagnosed with a chronic illness at 13. It’s funny, frank and—content warning—full of F Bombs. What it is most of all (apart from being a great read) is REAL.

I had an experience while studying abroad in Spain that I always thought was a great example of me resiliency and problem solving skills—one that I believed would be relatable and inspiring for other people with arthritis or other disabilities. So when I was invited to contribute to this anthology, I knew just what story I wanted to tell.

Learning when and how to ask for help is hard! Little ferret Kit gets frustrated when things are hard or scary, but with a little help, Kit’s playtime is fun, fun, FUN.
