I'm gonna need a new bucket list...
...'cause I spoke at the SCBWI Summer Conference again!
The title of my breakout session was —
Disability Reset: Changing How We Think, Talk and Write About Disability.
Here are a few of the slides from my presentation:
Some other great authors and I discussed craft at the DIYMFA Writer IGNITER YA Summit, held June 21, 2022 - July 1, 2022
My good friend, author and SCBWI Team Blog Captain Lee Wind, invited me to be a guest blogger for January 2022. I had a lot of fun creating the four blog posts. Click the links to read what I had to say.
Another dream come
true - I got to speak at
the 2021 SCBWI
Summer Conference!
My session was titled:
How To Smash Disability
Tropes & Create Empowered Disabled Characters
(Below are some samples of the images I created for my presentation.)
Had an awesome time chatting with Cheryl for her Arthritis Life podcast!
We discuss:
Arthritis hacks, ableism, disability pride and, of course, Cursed.

Did a really fun author panel and solo presentation for Festival of Words Delaware.
Unfortunately, sessions weren't recorded.
But - take heart! This is an annual event!
The chat I had with my author-buddy Wade Bradford was maybe my favorite interview to date!
Wade does a segment he calls "Your Very Own Game Show" - where he creates a game show based on three subject you give him. SO fun!
At long last I finally got to celebrate my Schneider Family Book Award win at 2021 ALA MidWinter!

The CURSED launch!
I had an absolute BLAST at my book launch events, both in the Los Angeles area, where I live now, and in Philadelphia, where I grew up and where Cursed is set.
My book signing at Children's Book World in West Los Angeles was SRO.
Photographic evidence of dreams coming true:
Signing a copy of Cursed for YA author Sonya Sones who I've long admired.
